FROM BRISTOL/M5
Leave motorway at Junction 11 only. At roundabout take exit for Cheltenham/A40. After about half a mile move into middle lane at GCHQ (Government Spooks Centre) roundabout. Straight ahead on A40 for Town Centre. On your right is a new, big Travelodge which is near the Park’n'Ride – this is highly recommended. Combined return bus fare AND car parking is £2.00 per day.
Parking in Cheltenham is both difficult and expensive (the nearest car park -Rodney Road- is £10 per day.)
Otherwise, continue along A40, signed Cheltenham Town Centre/A40. Go past, on your right, TEXACO Petrol Station, TGI Friday, Shell Garage. Police HQ. About 1 mile from GCHQ. At roundabout right in front of you you will see ‘Morgans Letting Agency’. Take 2nd turning on to Montpeller Terrace (A40) for about 150 yards and turn left onto Montpellier Drive (you’ll see 7 storey Eagle Star building). Don’t go as far as this building or traffic lights. Sort of veer left onto Vittoria Way.
Walk down Vittoria Way, past YMCA on to Oriel Road. Turn left and you will immediately see a truly horrendous BT building and also a row of large Victorian Houses (all now offices). This is Wolseley Terrace and we will be in Number 2.
There is no parking at the venue.
The map can be accessed from top right background to this page.
FROM EVESHAM DIRECTION/OTHER DIRECTIONS
Follow signs through the one way system for ‘Gloucester M5′. Eventually you will come to the ‘Morgan Letting Agency’ (see above) after you have passed the Queen Hotel. Take first exit off roundabout and follow same instructions as above.
BY RAIL
Trains to Cheltenham Spa. 15-20 minute walk to the location. Or take a bus to the town centre (Promenade). By taxi will cost about £5. Taxi to Rodney Road car park.
Walk from station: walk along Queens Road and at the end you join the A40, walk on this and you’ll walk past Raymond Blanc Brasserie/Queen Hotel and Montpellier roundabout (Morgans Letting Agency) and directions as above.
By bus: take a bus to Promenade (last stop). Alight from the bus and walk along Promenade in the same direction the bus will be. Go past a couple of clothes shops and cafes and turn left on to Oriel Road. Walk up road, past Town Hall and you will come to a serious bunch of traffic lights. Cross the road and you will see immediately a red and white metal barrier to the BT car park – go past this and up 2-3 steps into 2 Wolseley Terrace.
Go through door and you will come to a security door. If locked press bell – or work out the combination on the digital lock (I’ll share the secrets of how digital locks are all predictable on the first day).
The training takes place at The Isbourne Foundation, which opens at 9.00.
